4,096 hand drawn marks, held in 2,847 wallets

Each mark is built from 128 traits across nine layers, minted on Ethereum in March 2026 and pinned to IPFS with three providers.

Built on Ethereum, listed and pinned since 2 March 2026

128 traits across nine layers

Every mark is assembled from nine drawn layers: ground, frame, body, tool, stamp, glaze, wear, seal and signature. 128 traits fill them, 41 marks carry a trait that exists exactly once, and the layer weights were published before the mint opened.

Nine layers were drawn by hand at 2048px, then composited by the contract at mint time. The source files are public.

Read how the traits were drawn

Trait data lives on-chain, so a mark can be reassembled from the contract even if every image host goes dark.

What has shipped since March

Four commitments were published before the mint. Three are finished and the fourth has a date. Every spend from the treasury is listed on the same page.

100%

Contract deployed and audited

Deployed 2 March 2026 and verified on Etherscan the same day. The independent audit finished six days before that and the full report is published, findings and fixes together. Trait weights were written into the contract, not a config file.

100%

Mint closed in 19 hours

All 4,096 marks sold at 0.08 ETH on 6 March 2026, with a two-per-wallet cap and no allowlist. 2,904 wallets minted; 2,847 still hold six months later, which is 98% retention.

Trait explorer and rarity API

The explorer is live and covers all nine layers. The public rarity API is at 64%, with rank and trait-count endpoints shipped and the holder-filtered queries still in test. Both are free and need no key.

Treasury voting opens 12 January 2027

The treasury holds 159 ETH from 2.5% of every resale plus a quarter of the mint. From January every holder gets one vote per mark on how it is spent, and the ledger is already public so the balance can be checked before the first proposal.

Six apps tested end to end, and every ERC-721 venue

The contract sets no marketplace restriction and keeps no allowlist of approved venues, so a mark can be listed anywhere that supports ERC-721. These six apps were tested end to end on mint day and again in August.

Holder support, 7 days a week

What they checked first

Three holders on the thing they verified before buying

“We bought nine marks in April for a permanent screen installation. The commercial licence closed our legal review in four days instead of the six weeks a bespoke artwork licence usually takes, and the on-chain trait data lets our own system regenerate every image without one call to an outside host.”

PR
Priya Raghavan

Head of Digital Collections, Fernhill Museum Trust

“I minted two at 0.08 and bought four more on secondary. The rarity API is the reason. I pulled all 4,096 rank records in a single request and had my own sort running the same afternoon. Nothing else I hold publishes ranks I can query without a key.”

MB
Marcus Bell

Founder, Bracken Type Foundry

“Our club voted 31 to 4 to hold rather than sell, and the treasury ledger going public is what moved the room. We could see all 159 ETH and every line of spend against it, which is more than we can say for the other three collections we hold.”

Nobody can move, burn or reissue a mark, including the five people who made it. The contract has no proxy and no upgrade path, the audit that checked for both is published in full, and the address is at the bottom of this section.

Six questions holders ask before buying

Price, custody, what happens if the site disappears, and what you are allowed to do with the art. Answered in full, with the contract address at the bottom of the page.

Ask a holder in Discord

What does it cost to buy one right now?

The floor is 0.42 ETH and the last thirty sales cleared between 0.42 and 0.71 ETH. On top of that you pay Ethereum gas, which has run 0.002 to 0.006 ETH on recent transfers, and OpenSea takes its own fee at checkout. Marque adds nothing at the point of sale. The 5% resale royalty is only charged when you sell, and half of it goes to the holder treasury.

What happens to my mark if this website goes down?

Nothing. The image and the trait data are pinned to IPFS with three independent providers, and the nine trait indices for every mark are written into the contract itself. Anyone can rebuild the full image set from chain data and the public layer files; the script to do it is in the repository. This site is a shopfront, not the collection.

Who holds the keys, and can the team move my mark?

You do, in your own wallet. The contract has no proxy, no upgrade path and no admin transfer function, so there is no address that can move or burn your mark. The audit checked that specifically and the finding is in the published report. Ownership was renounced on 2 March 2026, three days before the mint.

What am I allowed to do with the artwork?

You get a full commercial licence to the mark you hold, including merchandise and derivative work, for as long as you hold it. The licence transfers with the token on sale. Marque keeps the right to show every mark in the collection gallery and nothing else. The licence text is three paragraphs long and linked from the contract.

How long does it take to buy, if I have never used a wallet?

About twenty minutes end to end. Installing a wallet takes five, funding it from an exchange takes ten to fifteen depending on the exchange, and the purchase itself is two clicks. There is a written walkthrough with screenshots, and the support channel is staffed seven days a week by a named person rather than a bot.

Can I sell anywhere, or only on OpenSea?

Anywhere that supports ERC-721. Marque is listed on OpenSea, Rarible and Blur, the contract is not restricted to any marketplace, and there is no allowlist of approved venues. Royalty enforcement is set at the contract level at 5%, so the split holds wherever the sale happens.
